Annie Sloan colour cards

Annie Sloan colour cards

Fans of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint will be pleased to note the designer has produced an easy-to-use 'colour wheel'

The colour wheel helps users work out what colours work together and can be mixed together to create bespoke shades for projects

The four-page A4 Card opens out to show the Annie Sloan Colour Wheel featuring 32 real Chalk Paint swatches. This simplified colour wheel helps you learn about colours that work together and which ones can be be mixed together to make a limitless number of shades.

Annie Sloan says mixing and combining paint colours is easily done if you know how colour works, and she suggests using her new 'wheel' as 'a springboard to launch into an exciting mix of colours you might previously have never considered.'

A triangle of colours indicates the three primary colours of red, blue and yellow which can't be made by mixing other colours.  To find a colour’s complementary colour simply look at the adjacent shades that run horizontally along that line of the Wheel.

For clashing colours, choose primary and secondary colours that run vertically along your chosen line of the wheel. The 26 primary and secondary colours are complemented by six neutral shades.

The two latest two colours to be launched are Burgundy, a rich colour with a strong neoclassical heritage, and English Yellow

Chalk Paint is considered environmentally-friendly because it's water-based and breathable, has negligible VOCs, doesn't off-gas and contains natural pigments. It is manufactured in the UK and US.
