How Aquaclean Works

Aquaclean fabrics are manufactured using an encapsulated micro detergent that is woven into the fabric. As the detergent is 'woven' into every layer as opposed to sprayed on, stains cannot  penetrate to the fibres because the detergent acts as a protective barrier. The detergent is activated when water is applied to the fabric which makes it the only thing needed to remove mess.

Aquaclean fabrics also boast revolutionary Safe Front Technology which keeps bacteria and dust mites from multiplying on it’s surfaces. Aquaclean Safe Front® is a powerful permanent barrier that is applied during manufacture which removes the need for external disinfectants. It  is made of zinc particles which prevent humidity so that bacteria, fungi and mites don’t live on the fabrics and reproduce. This creates a hygienic shield which keeps sofa’s clean from the inside out as no microorganisms can survive on or inside the fabric.

Safe Front has recently been tested against coronavirus and it was found that the virus strength was reduced by 91 per cent after only two hours of continuous contact. Aquaclean  is also anti allergy since it does not contain any Perfluorochemicals and does not allow for allergy inducing mites to survive.

Fire Resistance

Contains fire retardant technology which fulfils European Standards
The fire resistance uses phosphorus (not bromine)
This fire resistance lasts forever.
The range  includes some collections with inherent fire resistance (intrinsically part of the material)
The material is Oeko-Tex certified as it is completely free from harmful chemicals and safe for human use. To attain Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, the fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.

Manufacture

To ensure no chemicals are released into the environment in the manufacturing process, all byproducts are treated in a purifying plant.
Aquaclean textiles are manufactured in Spain.
