Awards for a house made from cork

Cork House in Berkshire is has won many awards for its ingenuity and eco-friendliness. Its shown that cork blocks are as effective a building material as bricks, with a far more minimal carbon footprint

Architects Matthw Barnett Howland and Dido Milne, together with Oliver Wilton, caused much excitement in the architecture world because they opted to build from cork blocks instead of bricks or timber. Shortlisted for the RIBA 2019 Stirling Prize, it has also just been awarded the Gold Prize and Private Category winner in the 2019 Wood Awards, organized by the American Hardwood Export Council.
