Reclaimed and waste wood become Memories of Green

Reclaimed and waste wood become Memories of Green

Designer Arturo Soto has designed and made a series of beautiful vessels and chalices using discarded wood. They're lovely pieces in themselves but they're also the perfect home for bonsai trees

Arturo Soto, the designer-maker behind new company Memories of Green, doesn't believe in waste. He's on a mission to demonstrate that objets of great beauty can be made from discarded and reclaimed wood and he recently unveiled his Event Horizon Luxury Collection of chalices and vessels made from a variety of discarded timbers. The vessels are works of art in themselves but they're also the perfect for displaying small plants, notably bonsai trees. The vessels can be fitted with a raised plate for the plant to sit on, see below right.
