Our Great Apes are in grave danger of extinction caused by the destruction of their habitat due to land development, war and disease. Conservation charities such as Born Free are working to raise international awareness of the plight of these animals and this year Born Free has commissioned a beautiful new book, Remembering Great Apes. It features fascinating photographs of gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans and bonobos taken by wildlife photographs including Martyn Colbeck, Art Wolfe and Frans Lanting, and proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards conservation work in Africa and Asia.
