Saving the planet: children design houses for their children's future

Kids' ideas were drawn up by professional artists

Adults may be keeping their heads in the sand when it comes to tackling climate change, but as the recent Schools Strike for Climate Action protests have shown, children and young people aren't. Building insurance company LABC Warranty wanted see if primary school children in Liverpool felt climate change would be impacting on homes of the future; so It invited them to design the type of house they imagined people will be living in by 2191. The results show a keen awareness that if our world keeps on warming, our housing will have to change radically. Professional artists were asked to turn the children's ideas into posters - note how the young designers see a life in or on water, or out in space.
