London Glassblowing's Peter Layton has a new collection of glass named after an orang-utan called Gito and 20 per cent of sales will go to Ovaid, a veterinary charity that cares for orang-utans in Borneo

London Glassblowing

The mouth-blown collection of vases and bottles is named after the orang-utan Peter Layton and his wife Ann adopted on a visit to Borneo with vets Nigel Hicks and Sara Fell, founders of the charity Ovaid (Orang-utan Veterinary Aid). Gito had been found in a very poor state in 2015 but has been nursed back to full health by Ovaid and will be returning to the rainforest in the near future. Peter's new collection of glassware is inspired by Gito and the colours of Borneo - dark emeralds and vivid oranges - and 20 per cent of sales will go to Ovaid. Prices from £320
