Sustainable Kitchens specialises in building high quality, bespoke kitchens with minimal impact on the environment. We don't use MDF - we use traditional and sustainable materials, principally hardwoods such as PEFC-certified American white oak; while our clever low profile approach and simplicity in design allow us to keep our prices affordable without compromising on materials or build quality.

We offer a tailored design, build, installation and project management service and we recycle clients' existing kitchens via Freecycle.

Our kitchens are made to last for decades, however we do consider end of life issues and build our kitchens in a way that allows them to be easily disassembled and component parts recycled.

Tog Knives are a must for serious cooks
Tog Knives

Tog knives are, according to many top chefs, the best money can buy. They're superbly sharp and durable and they make preparing food a joy.

Designed by industrial designer Rob Beagley-Brown, a Tog knife is a hand-made, batch-produced artisan product. The blades are forged in Japan's Seki City - home of the Samurai sword - from a unique steel that contains three different metals. A high carbon core gives them their incredible edge. The beautiful handles are made for us in Sheffield using the Norwegian material Kebony maple (a durable and eco-friendly alternative to tropical hardwood); and the knives, which are intended to last for decades, come with a lifetime guarantee (*but don't put them in the dishwasher!).

Phil Howard, chef and co-owner of two Michelin-starred The Square restaurant in London's Mayfair says this about his Tog knife: 'I'm not a knife geek but I do love a truly great knife. My Tog is one such piece of crucial kit.'
