phone: 01388 663 738
Modern Rugs was founded by Ben Dale in 2004. The business started off in his father’s local carpet shop in Durham and has since become the UK’s largest online rug retailer.

As a GoodWeave partner, all the collections we sell at Modern Rugs have been certified as being manufactured without the use of child labour.

At Modern Rugs we offer an inspiring range (we have some 20,000 designs) of high quality rugs, which we've selected from top brands. We love natural renewable fibres and you can choose carpets made from wool, wool/cotton blends, bamboo and sisal to name but a few.

And we won't be beaten when it comes to value: we promise to match or beat the price you’d pay at other rug retailers or you get your money back.

phone: 020 3730 7977

Majeurs Chesterfield specialises in the expert restoration, repair and reupholstery of antique and vintage Chesterfield furniture; and it also makes new leather or fabric-covered Chesterfield sofas and chairs, working with small furniture makers in the UK.

Founder Demi Owoseje trained as a leather restorer and upholsterer and she and her team are able to repair pieces that may look beyond repair to the untrained eye.

Majeurs Chesterfield pieces can be found at Clarence House and at 10 Downing Street and it's fast becoming the go-to company for anyone looking for a new or restored Chesterfield; it also offers second-hand pieces that haven't been restored for customers who like the shabby chic or well-worn look of a vintage leather Chesterfield. You can also hire a sofa, for example if you need one for a film set.

Desert Rouge by Joelle Kem Lika
Joëlle Kem Lika
2 Rue Saint Sauveur, 75002, Paris
phone: +33 (0)1 7557 6117
Joëlle Kem LIka is a respected contemporary French artist whose paintings are life-affirming, exuberant and full of vibrant colour.

At the heart of her work is a wish to celebrate and encourage us all to prize the natural world; indeed she says she draws her inspiration entirely from nature: 'I try to capture the strength of life in my works, such as the force of the sea, the vibrancy of life in the ocean, and the delight to be had from flowers, skies and sunsets.'

She works in watercolour and acrylic paints and genres she specialises in include abstracts, impressionism and painting from the perspective of being in a situation - so as an artist she's imagining what it would be like to be in a wave, or to be a ladybird in a flower.

Pictured here is her intensely red abstract painting Desert Rouge.
Seven Gauge Studios makes beautiful knitted accessories
Seven Gauge Studios
3 Victoria Crescent, Nottingham, NG5 5DA
phone: 0115 985 7871

Seven Gauge Studios makes knitted home and fashion accessories using premium quality lambswool. We take pride that our production is done in the UK at a small family-run factory using traditional techniques. Each piece is then hand-finished at our studio in Nottingham. Collections starts with a storyboard of ideas and we develop our colour palette and patterns. After knitting each piece is washed and dried, resulting in a beautifully soft, tactile product with a strong graphic quality. Find us in stores and galleries in the UK, Europe and Australia.
