Hawthorn Farm Buildings, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 7AB
phone: 07977 599526

Wayne Willetts is a Dorset-based designer-maker who specialises in beautiful driftwood mirrors and surfboard mirrors..which of course it's not advisable to try to surf on.

Wayne spends the winter gathering pieces of driftwood from beaches around Britain and transforms it into characterful mirrors and pieces of furniture and lighting for people who want their wood to look like wood and to have had minimal impact on the environment. Wayne's driftwood mirrors do evoke a sense of the sea and they work equally well in modern and traditional settings. Commission a unique piece for your sitting room, dining room or bedroom.

Clients can request whatever size of mirror they would like up to a width of 9ft.

Tog Knives are a must for serious cooks
Tog Knives

Tog knives are, according to many top chefs, the best money can buy. They're superbly sharp and durable and they make preparing food a joy.

Designed by industrial designer Rob Beagley-Brown, a Tog knife is a hand-made, batch-produced artisan product. The blades are forged in Japan's Seki City - home of the Samurai sword - from a unique steel that contains three different metals. A high carbon core gives them their incredible edge. The beautiful handles are made for us in Sheffield using the Norwegian material Kebony maple (a durable and eco-friendly alternative to tropical hardwood); and the knives, which are intended to last for decades, come with a lifetime guarantee (*but don't put them in the dishwasher!).

Phil Howard, chef and co-owner of two Michelin-starred The Square restaurant in London's Mayfair says this about his Tog knife: 'I'm not a knife geek but I do love a truly great knife. My Tog is one such piece of crucial kit.'

Cranford Drive, Holybourne, Alton, Hants GU34 4HJ
phone: 01420 85112
BasketBasket is a family-run business in Hampshire. Having developed a love of baskets while living in France, founder Virginia Seeckts found it frustrating when she returned to the UK that she couldn't find lovely baskets here. So she launched Basket Basket in 2008 selling fairly traded natural baskets – a truly eco-friendly alternative to the plastic shopping bag.

Our baskets are handmade from sustainable grasses and other plants by talented artisans from family-run businesses in Morocco, Ghana and Madagascar. We pay fair trade prices, providing work for local people and preserving skills for future generations. We use eco-friendly packing and there are no plastics used anywhere in our natural baskets.

We import mainly via road and sea, but to offset our carbon we are members of the Woodland Trust which creates new woods throughout the UK.
