Microplastics are everywhere

Drainage experts Lanes Group has produced an infographic showing how microplastics are infiltrating all areas of the planet, including our bodies. 

The term ‘microplastic’ refers to any piece of plastic smaller than 5mm in length. It's estimated there are nearly 25 trillion pieces of plastic in the world’s upper oceans alone, and that humans eat up to five grams of the stuff a week. Microplastics are quite literally everywhere and it's a growing problem that affects our planet in its entirety, from water and soil to human health.  See the infographic here
