Secret Gardens

Head to the capital in early June for London Parks and Gardens' annual open gardens event. It's a chance to see more than 100 gardens across London that aren't usually open to the public - from the rose-filled secret gardens in posh central London, to the corporate roof gardens of the City of London, to the working gardens of local communities and charities.

The roof garden at 25 Cannon Street (photo by Nathan Oley) opens to the public on 7-8 June this year, the hopefully sunny weekend for secret garden visits organised by London Parks and Gardens. You do have to book tickets - adults pay £19 - and all proceeds from the expected 40,000 garden visits to towards the running of charity LP&G and profits are divided among community gardens taking part in the open weekend. You can also take part in cycling and walking tours to the gardens at an additional cost.
