Art

By Dee McLean, Hampstead Heath in summer

Dee McLean Art

London NW5

Dee is an artist inspired by nature, be it her local Hampstead Heath, Louisiana or Canada - the latter two are important to her because she lived in the former and her daughter now lives in the latter.  Dee has a background in medical drawings but in recent years has returned to painting the natural world using watercolours predominantly. She captures the detail of vegetation while her paintings transmit the relaxed nonchalence of the natural world.  Dee is very committed to communicating how climate change is affecting the planet and her art depicts a changing world. You can buy giclee prints of Dee's original works, or commission a painting.

Littleworks Creative

phone: +44 (0)7974 187479

Littleworks Creative offers little works of art by Tamara Williams. She makes her unique pieces using plaster to cast both intaglio and relief plates. Each cast is unique, since no two castings are the same. Even colours can change due to the plaster baking the surface and altering the stability of the inks..Tamara's exquisite artworks always start with a drawing - and much of her inspiration comes from plants. Each plaster tile is air-dried, mounted and framed, and frames are hand-painted. Works are made to order and colours can be specified. Prices from £65

Original vintage posters are a true form of art with a purpose, designed to deliver a particular message through striking designs and created to grab the attention of passers-by, presenting artists with the challenge of condensing the message or concept into a precise, short visual and written form in a single artwork. They are important items of social history that capture the essence of the time they were printed.

The variety of sizes, subjects and styles in poster design make them perfect as a gift and adaptable to any interior design, from contemporary to traditional. As original antique and vintage items, they are also eco-friendly. Original vintage posters are recognised as a sound art investment that can be enjoyed every day.

Joelle Kem Lika water lilies

Joëlle Kem Lika

Studios in Acquitaine and Burgundy

phone: +33 (0)1 7557 6117

Joëlle Kem LIka is an artist whose paintings are life-affirming, exuberant and full of vibrant colour.

At the heart of her work is a wish to celebrate and encourage us all to prize the natural world; indeed she says she draws her inspiration entirely from nature: 'I try to capture the strength of life in my works, such as the force of the sea, the vibrancy of life in the ocean, and the delight to be had from flowers, skies and sunsets.'

She works in watercolour and acrylic paints and genres she specialises in include abstracts, impressionism and painting from the perspective of being in a situation - so as an artist she's imagining what it would be like to be in a wave or to be a ladybird inside a flower.

I enjoy creating playful compositions from everyday observation of objects and places. Table top vistas, memories of places and people, they all flow into my mind as I paint. Vessels, jugs and pots of flowers, windows and views from inside to outside are favourite and recurrent themes.

Bird forms, for me a symbol of the creative spirit, also inhabit my imagination and my work. Strong design and expressive colour, simplification and decorative reorganisation of the facts are all used to explore these subjects. Through my paintings I hope to share with you what I see and also how my imagination is sparked by my observations.
